BADMINTON. The badminton club “Moscoviya” was organized in the Moscow region

On December, 22 the Professional badminton club “Moscovia”, organized in the Moscow region in May this year, will make its debut n the Super league of the Russian championship. The General Director of the PBC “Moscovia” Denis Selyavin told about the idea of organizing the club and perspectives of the team to the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

“The possibility of organizing in the Moscow region specialized club became possible with arrival to the management of our kind of sports the Russian National Badminton Federation (RNBF) and election of the Minister of the territorial formations of the Moscow Region Government Valery Chernov for the post of the Head of the Moscow Regional Badminton Federation, -- Denis Selyavin noted. -- First, the vector of the development was changed at once -- for organizing and supporting regional clubs, second, we reached more definite relationships with the regional sport committee. At the beginning of this year the RNBF President Sergey Shakhray offered the Governor of the Moscow Region Boris Gromov to organize in the region a badminton club. Boris Gromov took this idea positively. We established the conception of development of badminton in the Moscow region and won the tender for the budget subsidies of the Regional Government. The idea is to organize on the base of the professional club or, to say it exactly, to recover the badminton club in our region. The club is, according to our idea, not just the professional team, but all the structures including the children-youth school and infrastructure. We need to add at once, that badminton in the Moscow region has old traditions, we began working not from nothing. The Badminton federation was founded in the region in 1967, and the kind of sport is cultivated in 17 out of 37 municipal parts of the region. So. On May, 1 2007 the Non-commercial partnership “PBC “Moscovia” was officially registered and began its work”.

According to the words of Denis Selyavin for the moment there are two clubs in the structure of the PBC “Moscovia”: “Moscovia-1” and “Moscovia-2”. “The best athletes play in the first team, including the legionnaires. There is a concrete goal behind the team -- to show the result. On December, 22 the debut of the team will take place in the Super league of the Russian championship. Only the athletes of the Moscow regional badminton play in the second team. Only! The boys debuted in division “B” of the high league in the Russian championship, and managed to won the second place at once. But for them the result isn’t the most important thing. The main target is to become the real reserve for “Moscovia-1” so that in future our teams will consist only from local athletes. Another aspect of reaching this goal is popularization of badminton in the region. For this the coaches and the athletes of the club regularly go to the municipal parts of the region, where they hold seminars for the coaches, master-classes and trainings with local badminton players. Such visits are one of the priorities of our work”, -- Denis Selyavin said.

The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started. Agency of sport information “All Sport” has learnt it from the personal trainer of Yury Borzakovsky – Vyacheslav Evstratov.
