OLYMPICS. Alexander Katushev: I will be able to tell the details of the prize money program “Olympic achievements-2008” already in the near future

The details of the prize money program of the “Russian Olympians Foundation” basing on the results of the Olympic Games in Beijing -- “Olympic achievements - 2008” on the total amount 290-340 million rubles will be announced already in the near future. The executive manager of the Foundation Alexander Katushev told about it to the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

“Ten leading Russian businessmen -- the founders of the “Russian Olympians Foundation”-- indeed have confirmed the main parameters of the prize money program for winners and medalists of the Olympic Games in Beijing -- the “Olympic achievements -- 2008”, -- Alexander Katushev confirmed. -- We voted for it unanimously. Certainly, we have done it beforehand, because our budget is defined, as well as in other serious and translucent organizations, in the beginning of the financial year. It is supposed that the total amount of the program will reach about 290 million rubles. But, depending on the success of our athletes, on which the founders hope very much, the program may be enlarged to 340 million rubles. I hope that in the near future I will be able also to tell the details of the prize money program of the “Russian Olympians Foundation”. First, it must be confirmed by the heads of the “Russian Olympians Foundation” -- tutorial council, which defines the total parameters of all the programs. And then, the meeting of the founders will be held. 10 founders, on money of which the Foundation exists and develops, as you realize, define both strategy directions of its activity, and financial parameters of each concrete program. The concrete size of the grants for concrete results, concrete positions we will define, I suppose, just before the start of the Olympic Games. When it happens, I will tell you about it with great pleasure. I hope, it will be defined at the next session of the Tutorial council”.

ATHLETICS. Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident and a person’s death
The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started. Agency of sport information “All Sport” has learnt it from the personal trainer of Yury Borzakovsky – Vyacheslav Evstratov.
