Vitaly Mutko signed the decree about payments of prize money to the coaches and experts for the Olympic Games 2008

The minister of sports, tourism and youth policy of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko signed the decree about the payments of the prize money to the coaches and experts who prepared the winners and medalists of the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2008 in Beijing. Vitaly Mutko told about it to the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

“I announced on October, 6, at the Solemn ceremony of the presentation of the new cars BMW from “The Russian Olympians Foundation”, that the coaches and experts, who prepared the champions and medalists of the Olympic Games in Beijing, will get the same prize money from the RF Government as their athletes, - Vitaly Mutko reminded. - The principle decision was taken that time, but we needed some money to prepare the correspondent decree and co-ordinate it with the Ministry of justice and the Ministry of finance. This decree is historical for this country, which has no analogy even in the Soviet times. That is why there was some delay, because of which some people started talking that we decided to stop it in the beginning. As you can see it is not true. Yesterday I signed the decree about the payments of the prize money to the coaches and experts who prepared the winners and medalists of the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2008 in Beijing. Since this day we are beginning sending the money”.

We remind you that on August, 6, 2008 the head of the government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed the order №1124-r, setting the following prize money to the Russian athletes according to the results of the XXIX Olympic Games and XIII Paralympic Games in Beijing: gold medal - 100 000 euro, silver medal - 60 000 euro, bronze medal - 40 000 euro. There is also said in that order: “The amount of the prize money to the coaches and experts of the Russian team, who prepared the athletes - the winners and medalists of the Games 2008, will be defined in order, confirmed by the Minsportturism of Russia together with the Russian Olympic Committee and the Russian Paralympic Committee”.

The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started. Agency of sport information “All Sport” has learnt it from the personal trainer of Yury Borzakovsky – Vyacheslav Evstratov.
