The budget of "The Russian Olympians Foundation" for the year 2009 has been confirmed at a rate of half-billion rubles, but will be for sure increased

The founders of ‘The Russian Olympians Foundation” - 15 leading Russian businessmen - confirmed the budget of ‘The Russian Olympians Foundation”, which Tutorial council is headed by the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. Its total rate will be half-billion rubles, but within the year it will be for sure increased. The executive director of ‘The Russian Olympians Foundation” Alexander Katushev told about it to the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

“The financial situation of ‘The Russian Olympians Foundation” in 2009 will be stable, - Alexander Katushev assured. - Recently the process of confirming of the budget for 2009 has been finished. All the 15 founders expressed their opinions about the programs and confirmed them unanimously. It once again indirectly confirms that we prepare carefully every offer, work at each detail. So the total budget of ‘The Russian Olympians Foundation” for 2009 will be about half-billion rubles. These means will be used for realization of five programs: support of the candidates to the Olympic team at the Winter Olympic Games 2010 in Vancouver and their coaches; stimulation of athletes according to the results of the season 2008-2009; stimulation of coaches and experts according to the results of the winter season 2008-2009; support of the veterans of sports; support of children sport schools. But we are working also at several other programs, I can exactly say that we will support certain summer kinds of Olympic sports. Sure, for the moment the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, to which we are coming not in the leading positions, are at the center of attention. But I completely agree with the President of the Russian Athletics Federation Valentin Balakhnichev: we can’t lose sight of summer sports in any case - especially, such medal holding, as athletics, swimming, cycling, artistic gymnastics, canoe and others. For the successful performance at the Summer Olympic Games in London 2012 the seasons 2009 and 2010 are even more important, than seasons 2011 and 2012, because right now the competitive environment in the national teams is formed, from which the leaders, able to pretend for the medals in London-2012, will grow up in 2011. I think, I am not wrong if I say, that within the year 2009 some more programs will appear, and for the means, given for their financing, the year budget of “The Russian Olympians Foundation” will be for certain increased”.
