The sport named after the mother of Albina Akhatova is going to spent the grant of “The Russian Olympians Foundation” on buying skis, bows and installations for shooting

The sport school named after Tatyana Akhatova in Labytnangi became one of the grant recipients of “The Russian Olympians Foundation” in the program of support of youth sport schools, and received for the year 2009 the sum of 1,5 million rubles. The director of the school Aleksey Zakolyukin told about the plans and perspectives of the school to the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

“In the administration of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous region they gave me the idea to submit the documents on competition of “The Russian Olympians Foundation”, - Aleksey Zakolyukin said. - Our school has great traditions, our pupils participated at the four latest Winter Olympic Games, that’s why I decided to try. I send to the Foundation all the data of our work, described the achievements for the last three-five years, gave the list of our famous pupils. This year Larisa Kuznetsova  became the World youth champion  in relay in Canmore. Our pupil Luisa Noskova-Cherepanova won the Olympic Games 1994 in Lillehammer, and at the next three Olympic Games - in 1998, 2002 and 2006 - Albina Akhatova competed, and she always came back home with medals, and in 2006 she won, at last, the gold medal. We, certainly, hope, that Akhatova will participate at the Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010, but in this situation, I am not sure…  Any way, Albina often visits our school, her father Khamit Akhatov works here. And our school is named after her mother, Tatyana Veniaminovna Akhatova, who died in car crash in 2000. In memory of her mother we gave her name to the school”.

Andrey Zakolyukin also told us, how he is going to spend the grant of “The Russian Olympians Foundation”. “To be frank, with traditions of our school I expected that we will become one of the winners of the competitions. But nevertheless, it is very pleasant, that somebody estimated your work. For the grant I am planning to buy the high quality equipment for our pupils: skis, bows, boards and installations for shooting. Together with biathlon our school also develops archery. This grant is a great support for us”, - Aleksey Zakolyukin noticed.
