Jury Charkovsky: the grants of “The Russian Olympians Foundation” became perfect support for the coaches and servicemen

Yesterday, on November, 29, in Kuusamo (Finland) the second stage of the World Cup in cross country finished. It happened to be one of the most successful in the recent years for the Russian team: in four races Russian athletes won medals, six more got in the best “ten”, seven more finished in the best “30”. The head coach of the Russian cross country team Jury Charkovsky commented on the successful participation of the athletes and specially notified the role of “The Russian Olympians Foundation”, which realizes the “salary” program of support of winter kinds of sport before the Olympic Games-2010 in Vancouver.

“I don’t want to speak for the athletes, but for us - coaches and service-team - the grants of “the Russian Olympians Foundation” became a great support, - Jury Charkovsky noticed. - The salary from the Center of the sport preparation of the Ministry of sport, which we all receive, is much smaller (smiling). To my mind, our coaches and service team certainly worth more. But we have never complained and don’t complain now. Because, as life shows, when we start complaining, the result falls down. The new grants of “The Russian Olympians Foundation” have changed a lot. For example, at the World cup in Kuusamo, where we are at the moment, the food is not very good. So, we on the way to our hotel in the town Rukka came into the shop and bought some fresh fruits, juices. They all have now credit cards, on which every month the grants are sent - and they all can buy something in any country, in any currency. Before that we couldn’t even imagine this”.

We remind you, that the founders of “The Russian Olympians Foundation” are 15 leading businessmen of the country: Aleksander Abramov, Roman Abramovich, Peter Aven, Vagit Alekperov, Vladimir Bogdanov, Andrey Bokarev, Viktor Vekselberg, Oleg Deripaska, Vladimir Evtushenkov, Vladimir Lisin, Dmitry Pumplyansky, Viktor Rashnikov, Dmitry Rybolovlev and Alisher Usmanov. The head of the Tutorial council - the RF President Dmitry Medvedev.

ATHLETICS. Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident and a person’s death
The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started. Agency of sport information “All Sport” has learnt it from the personal trainer of Yury Borzakovsky – Vyacheslav Evstratov.
