The head coaches of the Russian teams will receive to 120 thousand, and athletes – to 90 thousand roubles a month since 2011

Since January, 2011, the salary of the members of the Russian national teams, for which the Center of sport preparation of the Russian teams is the main place of work, will be increased considerably. Depending on the actual results shown at the official competitions, the head coaches will receive 90-120 thousand rubles, the athletes – 30-90 thousand rubles, and the experts of 40-60 thousand rubles a month. The deputy minister of sports of the Russian Federation Yury Nagornykh, who supervises winter sports and preparation for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi 2014, has told about it to Agency of the sports information «All sport».

«The Ministry of sports created a global program, directed on improvement of maintenance of the members of the Russian national teams, - Jury Nagornykh said. - It includes the measures in almost all directions: science-methodological, material-technical, and informational-analytical maintenance, equipment, and many others. It also includes the considerable increasing of the salary of the members of the Russian national teams: athletes, coaches and experts. For the moment the program passes the coordination in the government and the Ministry of Finance. It is a usual practice, a standard mode. Recently at the meeting the vice-president of the government of the Russian Federation, the president of Russian Olympic committee Alexander Zhukov has directly said that the question with financial maintenance of athletes and coaches has not simply ripened, and it has already become overripe. All who is involved in preparation of the national teams should provide a worthy life to themselves and relatives. It is the unequivocal, consolidated position of the ministry of sports and the Russian Olympic committee, to realize it was a priority problem. Already now it is possible to say that the government has approved our program, and the Ministry of Finance essentially is not against. I think our suggestions will be taken and will find its place in the budget 2011. For the moment the maximum sum, that the athletes and coaches receive in the center of the sports preparation is about 30 000 rubles. The basic salary since the January 2011 won’t be changed much, and will be about 7-8 000 rubles. But taking into account the various raising factors, special awards and additional payments the head coaches will receive 90-120 thousand, the senior coaches – it is a bit less, the experts – 40-60 thousand, and the athletes – 30-90 thousand rubles. I will notice that all these factors, awards and additional payments will depend on the actual results shown at the official competitions. We will create the special commission for acceptance of concrete decisions».

Jury Nagornych has also said that the question about increasing a so-called «the presidential grant» is under discussion (which all Olympic champions, and also athletes, coaches and the experts entering into structures of the Russian national teams) receive life-long, and programs of «The Russian Olympians Foundation » will be more rigidly focused on achievement of concrete results.« Except increasing of the salaries, we now discuss in the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, the government and the ministry the question about increasing of "presidential grants» – from 15 to 30 thousand rubles. Naturally, “The Russian Olympians Foundation” will continue support of athletes, coaches and experts. However, the new programs which for the present time are only under discussion will be more rigidly focused on achievement of the concrete result. We can strictly say that there won’t be "salary" programs any more, which appeared one year prior to the Winter Olympic Games of 2010 when all candidates of the Russian national team received 45 thousand, coaches and experts –40 thousand rubles. There are some approaches, they are now discussed. The following scheme is possible for the candidates to the Russian Olympic team for the Games-2012: the grant base unit is paid monthly, the basic and big – is put on the deposit, and paid completely, paid partially or not paid in general already depending on the total result shown in London », - Jury Nagornykh said.

ATHLETICS. Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident and a person’s death
The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started.
