Sergey Korol: the election of Andrey Bokareva's to the post of the president of the Association of ski sports in Russia urged to raise considerably the authority, influence, activity and responsibility of this organization

The famous Russian businessman, the founder of “The Russian Olympians Foundation” Andrey Bokarev has been selected for the president of the Russian Association of ski sports in March, which represents our country in the International Federation of Ski sports (FIS), which unites four National federations of six Olympic kinds of sports. The executive director of the Association Sergey Korol with the help of the press-service of the Association told to the Agency of sport information “All Sport” about the activity of the Association and its president.

“The Russian Association of ski sports has been formed in summer 2005 at the initiative of the Russian ski sport federations on the basis of the Union of the Russian ski federations, existing since 1994, - Sergey Korol said. It unites the Russian cross-country federation, Russian alpine ski and snowboard federation, Russian freestyle federation, Russian ski jumping and Nordic combined federation, which develop six Olympic kinds of sports. The main motivation for creation of the association of four federations is representation in the international organizations and, first of all, in the International federation of ski sports (FIS). According to the charter of the FIS, only one organization can represent one country - the federation, association or union. The experience of our Association we took from the experience of existence of Associations of ski sports in Sweden, Finland, Austria, Norway, Italy and France. In many these countries there are separate organizations of ski sports at the national level, but they are united in the Associations for representative at the international level, in FIS they are united in the Associations. The Association of ski sports of Russian is the only legal organization for the FIS management, which is responsible for developing of ski sports, and its president is a sign figure, who is the head of the Russian delegation at the FIS Congress and other international forums. And till the recent time the Association of ski sports of Russia mainly announced the Russian athletes for participation at the International competitions and officially contacted with FIS. So, mainly it made only technical functions. In some measure, it also has led to the doping scandal, when within the last Olympic four years 13 Russian cross-country skiers have positive doping samples. And FIS announced sanctions for doping scandals - as financial, as organizational, to the Association“.

“The election of the famous Russian president and sports leader Andrey Bokarev for the post of the president of the Russian Association of ski sports has been urged to raise considerably the authority, influence, activity and organizational liability of the Association, - Sergey Korol continued. - Really, the meeting, at which Andrey Bokarev was selected for the president, took place in March. But, according to the number of reasons we didn’t announced about it. First of all, we should wait for the results of the selection conferences of the federations, which are included in the Association. Second, we need time to make the inside audit of the Association - legal, organizational and financial. For the moment we have started active work of realization of FIS decisions according to the doping scandals in cross-country ski, and we have started making the program of anti-doping maintenance and anti-doping program in Russian ski sport. The Association will also synchronize the Russian and International calendars in all ski kinds of sports, coordinate building of sport facilities and hold important International competitions in Russia, will continue creation and realization of marketing programs, preparation of coaches and experts. The active and responsible activity of the Association will raise the authority of the Russian sport at the international level on the threshold of Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi”.

ATHLETICS. Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident and a person’s death
The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started. Agency of sport information “All Sport” has learnt it from the personal trainer of Yury Borzakovsky – Vyacheslav Evstratov.
