OLYMPICS. The new chapter devoted to the Russian Olympic Committee will in the new redaction of the “Sport” law

In the new redaction of the “Sport” Law, which has been elaborated by the experts of the Federal Agency of Physical Training and Sports (Rossport), passed by the State Duma in the first reading, but sent for correction before the second reading, will appear a new chapter, which will be completely devoted to the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC). The head of the legal department of the ROC Alexandra Brilliantova shared this information with the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

“The working group of correction of this“Sport” law, which consists of the members of the State Duma, Federation Council, the Rossport, and also the lawyers of the ROC and sport federations, has at least one meeting a week, -- Alexandra Brilliantova said. – The head of the Federation Council Commission for youth and sport, the president of the Russian Football Unit Vitally Mutko and another senator, the three-time Olympic champion in handball Andrey Lavrov are the organizers and the drivers of this law. Only thanks to their actions after the first reading we managed to work over most parts of the adopted chapters and the presented changes. In the project of the “Sport” law, that will be brought to the second reading in the State Duma, the separate chapter, devoted completely to the ROC, its aims, tasks and functions, will appear. In the whole, all the changes that have been done, not only keep, but increase the principles the Law from 1999, but these changes have been excluded from the new redaction offered by the Rossport. Certainly we are satisfied both with the work we’ve done, and the result we’ve achieved.

Alexandra Brilliantova also said, that the whole layer of the themes connected with the professional sport, the conformity of the sport reality with the Labour Code, social protection of the sportsmen are now under the discussion of the working group of corrections of the “Sport” low.

ATHLETICS. Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident and a person’s death
The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started. Agency of sport information “All Sport” has learnt it from the personal trainer of Yury Borzakovsky – Vyacheslav Evstratov.
