WRESTLING. The Olympic champions Baroev and Mishin will head the Russian Greco-Roman team in the European Wrestling Championship

The Olympic champions Hasan Baroev (the category under 120kg) and Alexey Mishin (under 84kg) will head the Russian Greco-Roman team in the European Championship, which will be held in Sophia on April, 16-22. The head coach of the Russian team, the five-time World champion Gogy Koguashvily told about it to the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

“The preparation for the European championship was held in several stages, -- Gogy Koguashvily said. – According to the results of the Grand Prix “Ivan Poddubnyi” in January the trainers’ staff composed the widen staff of the team – 5-6 athletes in each category, and the winners of the tournament got the advantage in composing the staff for the European Championship. Then the team took part in the World Cup and in series of the official International Tournaments – in Greece, Hungary, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Egypt, and according to the results of these tournaments we composed the main staff of the team – 3-4 athletes in each category. After that we had two training camps – in Sochi and Adler. I think the boys had done very good work. The Complex Scientific Group headed by Alexander Akopyan helps us very much. Thanks to it I have got detailed information about the changes of physical and psychological condition of each athlete. It helps to bring athletes up to the main competitions of the year in their best condition.

Based on this information we composed the staff of the team for the European championship. They are the winner of the Grand-Prix “Ivan Poddubnyi” 2007 Zaur Kuramagomedov (the category under 55kg) and Islam-Bek Albiev (under 60kg), the silver medalist of the European Championship 2006 Sergey Kovalenko (under 66kg), the European champion 2004 Michael Ivanchenko (under 74kg), the Olympic champion Aleksey Mishin (under 84kg), the bronze medalist of the World Championship 2005 Vasilyi Teplouhov (under 96kg) and the Olympic champion Hasan Baroev (under 120kg)”.

ATHLETICS. Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident and a person’s death
The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started. Agency of sport information “All Sport” has learnt it from the personal trainer of Yury Borzakovsky – Vyacheslav Evstratov.
