WRESTLING. The instigators and participants of the mass disturbances during the Russian Freestyle Wrestling Championship have been punished with the suspensions and money fines

The executive board of the Russian Wrestling Federation (RWF), which was held on July, 17, made up the decision to punish with solid fines and suspensions the instigators and participants of the mass disturbances, which took place in the sport hall “Druzhba” during the Russian Freestyle Wrestling Championship on July, 4-6. The RWF executive director George Brusov told about it to the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

As we announced just after the end of the Russian Championship, all the instigators and participants of the disturbances will be punished as strict as possible, -- George Brusov said. -- Exactly according to this position the RWF Executive Board took its decisions. The wrestler George Ketoev, who began the fight during one of the qualification fights, has been fined by 50 000 rubles. We found such behavior of the European Champion, the member of the Russian Team unacceptable. The coaches of the Dagestan Team Magomed Guseinov and Mairbek Yusupov have been fined by 100 000 rubles and the ban for timing the fights at all the Russian competitions till the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. Allavdin Batirov, father and coach of Mavlet and Adam Batirov, has also been banned to time the fights till the Olympics 2008. After watching video tapes many times the investigators of the disturbances have been determined, those who took part in beating the representatives of the judges and put the material damage to the sport hall “Druzhba”. We have made up the decision to create the list of the persons, who will be forbidden to enter the accredited zones during the wrestling competitions. For example, the representative of Belarus Murad Gaidarov is forbidden from this moment to visit training camps and competitions with participation of the Russian wrestlers. At the same time the RWF Executive Board paid special attention on the noble behavior of the World and European Champion Sazhid Sazhidov, who tried to stop the increasing of the disturbances and did for it everything he could”.

George Brusov has also added that the RWF Executive Board mentioned the negative role of the Russian Champion, two times Olympic Champion, the member of the RWF Bureau and the deputy of the State Duma Arsen Fadzaev in creating the strained atmosphere around the Russian Championship. “With his often groundless public sayings and actions, including the speculations on the theme of returning the Russian Championship back to Vladikavkaz, Arsen Fadzaev provoked from the beginning the unhealthy agiotage around the Russian Championship. Being the member of the Bureau he has already missed two last meetings of this organization. In the nearest future there will be the meeting with the head persons of the federation, where we are going to find out how does Arsen Suleimanovich see his future work as the member of the RWF Bureau”, -- George Brusov said.

The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started.
