FIGURE SKATING. The head of the “Aeroflot” press-service Irina Dannenberg: and nevertheless, it is Plusсhenko’s fault

The Olympic champion, many times World and European champion in Figure Skating Eygeny Pluschenko and two his agents and managers Ary Zakaryan and Pavel Senin flew away on August, 2 at 20.40 p.m. from the airport “Sheremetievo 1” for Sochi by the “Aeroflot” flight. The head of the “Aeroflot” press-service Irina Dannenberg told to the Agency of sport information “All Sport” the reasons, why they couldn’t fly away at 15.30, although had tickets to that flight.

“I am ready to tell the situation with Eugeny Pluschenko and his fellow travelers just by the minutes, -- Irina Dannenberg said. -- The departure was appointed at 15.30 p.m. The check in of the passengers, according to the rules, ended at 15.00 p.m. Eugeny Pluschenko and two his fellows were the last ones to come to the check in desk -- 6 minutes before the dead line, at 14.54 p.m. For that moment all the places in the Economy Class in the plane had been already occupied. We have already explained it to you in the press-service of our company, that overbooking the tickets is the World practice -- when they sell 2-3 tickets for the flight more than there are in the plane. It happens very seldom when the plane is full, but to our great regret that day such an exception happened. I would like to remind you that we always ask passengers to come to the check in beforehand. We are very sorry, but still it was Pluschenko’s and his fellows’ fault in that situation. In spite of that fact the “Aeroflot” officials offered two of the participants of that story to take two left places in the Business Class - and without excess fare. It is also the World practice. Pluschenko and his fellows refused, saying they wanted to fly together. Then we rebooked their tickets for the next “Aeroflot” flight -- which departured for Sochi according to the time-table at 20.40 p.m. All the time left till the flight Pluschenko and his fellows spent in the Business Hall of the airport “Sheremetievo 1”, where our company gave them free entrance”.

ATHLETICS. Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident and a person’s death
The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started. Agency of sport information “All Sport” has learnt it from the personal trainer of Yury Borzakovsky – Vyacheslav Evstratov.
