BOXING. The Lawyer: after recalling Eduard Husainov from the post of the AIBA Vice-President none of the Russians will be able to take this post

According to the regulations of the Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA) none of the Russian representatives is able to claim on the post of the AIBA Vice-President which is vacant after recalling Eduard Husainov. The lawyer of the company “Strategy and Trinfico” Sergey Kovalev, who carries this case on behalf of the President of the European Amateur Boxing Association (EABA), and the ex-President of the Russian Boxing Federation (RBF) Eduard Husainov, told about it to the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

“After the meeting in Moscow of the AIBA President Ching-Kuo Wu and the RBF President Eugeny Murov it became known that RBF recalled Eduard Husainov from the post of the AIBA Vice-President and the Head of the AIBA Continental Bureau, -- Sergey Kovalev reminded. -- According to the AIBA regulations the representative of the Europe, who was the second after the Russian at the elections last year in Santo-Domingo, must take the vacant post. It is clear that the Russian representative can’t be this person just because there weren’t any other Russian candidates, besides Husainov. In other words, Russia at least up to the next AIBA congress in 2010 remains without the post of the AIBA Vice-President and the Head of the AIBA Continental Bureau. Theoretically Eduard Husainov must remain the member of the AIBA Executive Board, but only theoretically, because there is no mention of such a precedent in the AIBA regulations”.

Sergey Kovalev also said that Eduard Husainov remains the Head of the European Boxing. “Just legally the AIBA and the EABA are two different organizations. There are no hierarchical subordination between them. That is why the positions of my client in the EABA can’t be put under doubt”, -- Sergey Kovalev said.

The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started.
