BASKETBALL. Sergey Kuschenko reached agreement in New York about the global, long-term and equal in rights cooperation with NBA

The President of the Professional Basketball club CSKA, the head of the “big” CSKA Sergey Kuschenko and the heads of the National Basketball Association (NBA) reached an agreement in New York about the new format of their cooperation. From the American side the NBA President of Global Marketing Partnership and Business Operations Heidi Ueberroth, the senior Vice-President of Business-Development Peter Farnsworth, the NBA vice-president of holding Events and Attractions Peter Fink and the Vice President for Internatioanl Relations Kim Bowny took part in the negotiations. Sergey Kuschenko told the details to the Agency of sport information “All Sport”.

“On the whole the meeting was of a very positive character, -- Sergey Kuschenko, who arrived to the USA by a special invitation, noted. -- The representatives of the NBA accepted our main condition -- the cooperation with equal partner rights. The goal of our cooperation was determined by both sides as the development of basketball in the World. It is difficult to argue that in the USA the American football is on the first place, and in Europe -- our, European football. But these kinds of sport have already reached the peak of their development. Basketball still has enough spaces for it. Both sides realized that holding the tournaments in the format of the NBA Live -- are single, dot actions, pre-season actions. They will, certainly, remain in the competence of the Euro league and the NBA. But we came to a conclusion, that the cooperation must be global and long-term, must cover not only basketball games, but all possible spheres -- the process of exchanging the experience, methods, athletes, business. In the new project, which I hope we will start in the near future, the work with sponsors will be carried out together, as well as the distribution of the incomes on conditions, which satisfy both sides. On the base of our partnership with the NBA we can establish the model, which will be demanded in the future in Europe”.

ATHLETICS. Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident and a person’s death
The famous Russian runner, 800 m Olympic champion Yury Borzakovsky was found not guilty in the car accident that happened at night September, 30 – October, 1 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. The car accident resulted in a man’s death but the criminal case was not even started. Agency of sport information “All Sport” has learnt it from the personal trainer of Yury Borzakovsky – Vyacheslav Evstratov.
